Date Night

Saturday night had finally rolled around and I was super excited… cause my loverboy had planned a date night to celebrate our moving in together šŸ™‚

The weather was super blustery but nice and warm, so we trotted off to Eat Street to sample our favourite treats. We hit up Eat Street all the time as it’s so much easier for everyone to choose what they are craving, and it’s always reasonably priced.

Now, I’m a creature of habit… so I get the same thing every time!

I start with sweet potato chips, then sip on an iced tea, and stop by Gluten Off on the way out to pick up a GF cinnamon donut.

I wore my new Annalee Jumpsuit from The ParlaĀ which was perfect for this weather! Nice and light to keep me cool, and no need to fret about my hem line blowing up, up & away in the wind šŸ˜‰

Ā Ā

As well as my traditional cinnamon donut, I also took home a GF Twix Bix! Gooey, caramelly, biscuit perfection.

Les Bubbles

I guiltily noticed recently that an astounding two months had passed since I’d made a new post! Rest assured I hadn’t forgotten about poor old Lexie Lou, but in that two months I’ve been busy as always.

After coming home from a two week holiday in Perth for my best friend’s wedding, I was soon back into the swing of things… working my two jobs, preparing to move house, and trying to catch up on my ironing :/

I decided to make some time for my love and I to have a night out on our own. The first restaurant that popped into my head was Les Bubbles, a Parisian steakhouse in Fortitude Valley that had been popping up all over my Facebook newsfeed.

We got all gussied up in our finest, and off we went!

Les Bubbles do things a little bit differently to other restaurants… they offer one main that they know they do well! Quality grass fed beef is chargrilled to medium rare perfection, and the most delicious fries (or as we say at Les Bubbles, frites) grace your plate. And did I mention the frites are bottomless?!

I requested gluten free bread with my entree of a warm leaf salad and was pleasantly surprised with a fresh, thickly cut slice that delighted my tastebuds (with a light slather of butter :P). To keep my meal FODMAP friendly IĀ refrained fromĀ ordering any sauce to accompany my steak. I also paired my meal with a delicious Chandon Rose which went down a treat! It would have been rude not to order bubbles šŸ˜‰

They also offer vegetarian and pescatarian options, so all will feel comfortableĀ at this steakhouse. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming whilst keeping it’s funky edge, and was certainly somewhere I would recommend for families, couples, young and old alike!

Our food was delicious, and the service was spectacular. We will certainly be back for more!

Ferngully Fairy… Part Two

Welcome to Part Two of my Ferngully-esque escape into the Mt Coot-Tha Botanical Gardens!

I’m again wearing some beautiful pieces from Chip The Teacup, and I have to tell you… I’m dying for Summer to roll around again so I can sparkle all over the sea-side!

This high-waisted two pieces has a little gold sparkle through it, so up close it really catches your eye and it definitely puts a smile on my dial šŸ˜€

I often struggle to find swimsuits that I feel comfortable in and can really feel fabulous in… this one fits the bill better than I could have dreamed! Appropriate lady lump support plus fully lined & padded in the bust, and a flattering bottoms cut that isn’t going to give you a saggy nanna behind. Sorry Nannas. šŸ˜›

I paired my togs with a sheer midi length tulle skirt from Black Milk Clothing. All the links to these products can be found at the bottom of this post!

Ferngully Fairy… Part One

Hello everyone, and happy Friday!

I’m increasingly frightened by how fast this year has been passing us by.. eek! Anyone have any tips to slow down time? Even just a little?!

As I’m sure you know by now, I’m all about the slow life! Slow living, slow eating and of course the slow fashion movement! This has been quite a journey for me, as you have to reset your whole approach and mindset when it comes to consuming.

To slow down my weekend, I recently spent some time at the beautiful Mt Coot-Tha Botanical Gardens with my brother to soak up some natural vibes šŸ™‚

I wore my gorgeous Chip The Teacup dress… which really stood out and I certainly got a few looks!

If you haven’t heard of Chip The Teacup, you can check out their gorgeous unicorn and mermaid worthy attire HERE. They are also on Facebook and (my personal fave) Instagram.

CTT love the slow fashion movement just as much as I do, with each piece lovingly handmade to last in beautiful Lennox Head, NSW. The quality is exactly what you would expect from something locally made with love, with the sizing definitely being a trueĀ fit and flattering!

Full outfit details will be included at the bottom of this post šŸ™‚

Pastel Play Time

Hello lovers! This my my third and final set of photos (for now!!) from my latest visit to Ra Ra Superstar.

My first outfit pictured here was a bit more cutesy-punk and features an adorable mini skirt made from recycled denim. A really flattering little piece that you could wear out to a party or during the day to a picnic!

The sheer socks are super soft and too cute to be believed. And to spice up any outfit, why not grab a giant eyeball pom pom hairband? Such a unique piece!!

I couldn’t resist this wee little set – a combination of florals and pastels…. we all know they are two of my very favourite things! The neckline on this top is super sweet, and it has a cross-overĀ back for those who like to show a little skin šŸ™‚

Be Quirky – Buy Quirky

Hello dear readers! I’m here to bring you another instalment of chaotic and quirky awesomeness from my friends at Ra Ra Superstar ā¤

This set has completely captured my heart!! The colours and pattern didn’t initially strike me as ‘my style’, but once I tried it on I was smitten.

The colours went surprisingly well with my hair and complexion, and I’m obsessed with the neckline on this top.

Flattering, feminine, super cute.

Ch-Ch-Check it out!

I dropped in to visit my favourite slow-fashion movement friends at Ra Ra Superstar last weekend, to try on the adorable new matchy-matchy sets that they have in store!

You might be wondering why I often rabbit on about sustainable or slow fashion, the short story is thatĀ it ties in with how I planĀ to live my life. The less of a negative impact I can make on this world and on the environment – the better!

Modern society is so fast paced that we have no chance of keeping up with the latest and greatest of everything (yet we need it ALL now!). As a result we are churning through mass produced, low quality products that fastĀ become landfill, and we are depleting our natural resources at a rapid rate. šŸ˜¦ Boo.

Kathy (the creativeĀ genius behindĀ Ra Ra Superstar)Ā helps to reduce the human footprint on our planet EarthĀ by creating cute new clothes out of vintage fabrics and clothing, and reselling fabulously quirky one of a kindĀ pieces that you won’t find anywhere else.

So you better get in quick – outfits new and old don’t stick around for too longĀ at Ra Ra Superstar. Make sure you head on over to theĀ Facebook page causeĀ you don’t want miss a thang!
