Ferngully Fairy… Part Two

Welcome to Part Two of my Ferngully-esque escape into the Mt Coot-Tha Botanical Gardens!

I’m again wearing some beautiful pieces from Chip The Teacup, and I have to tell you… I’m dying for Summer to roll around again so I can sparkle all over the sea-side!

This high-waisted two pieces has a little gold sparkle through it, so up close it really catches your eye and it definitely puts a smile on my dial 😀

I often struggle to find swimsuits that I feel comfortable in and can really feel fabulous in… this one fits the bill better than I could have dreamed! Appropriate lady lump support plus fully lined & padded in the bust, and a flattering bottoms cut that isn’t going to give you a saggy nanna behind. Sorry Nannas. 😛

I paired my togs with a sheer midi length tulle skirt from Black Milk Clothing. All the links to these products can be found at the bottom of this post!

Ferngully Fairy… Part One

Hello everyone, and happy Friday!

I’m increasingly frightened by how fast this year has been passing us by.. eek! Anyone have any tips to slow down time? Even just a little?!

As I’m sure you know by now, I’m all about the slow life! Slow living, slow eating and of course the slow fashion movement! This has been quite a journey for me, as you have to reset your whole approach and mindset when it comes to consuming.

To slow down my weekend, I recently spent some time at the beautiful Mt Coot-Tha Botanical Gardens with my brother to soak up some natural vibes 🙂

I wore my gorgeous Chip The Teacup dress… which really stood out and I certainly got a few looks!

If you haven’t heard of Chip The Teacup, you can check out their gorgeous unicorn and mermaid worthy attire HERE. They are also on Facebook and (my personal fave) Instagram.

CTT love the slow fashion movement just as much as I do, with each piece lovingly handmade to last in beautiful Lennox Head, NSW. The quality is exactly what you would expect from something locally made with love, with the sizing definitely being a true fit and flattering!

Full outfit details will be included at the bottom of this post 🙂

Sea clouds

Early this morning my mother roused the family from our sleep to head down to Elephant Rock for the Dawn Service.

Hundreds of people had gathered on the beach to pay their respects and spend time remembering those who gave their lives for our country.

Watching the sun rise over the sea as the bugle played was a moving background for the scenes of Gallipoli that were playing in my mind’s eye.

We Will Remember Them.

After brekkie and a nap I’m now laying on the beach staring at the clouds as they drift on by. They look close enough to touch today!

There’s nowhere I’d rather be than laying on the beach in the last scrap of sunshine before winter is truly upon us.

Time was invented to stop everything from happening at once…

This weekend I was lucky enough to have the chance to escape the city for a brief getaway to indulge in a little R&R.

I had spent some time trawling the AirBNB website in search of something affordable that would offer an interesting new experience, when Stringybark Cottage caught my eye! Situated in Eumundi, close to Noosa and Coolum Beach, this was a great spot to explore some fantastic holiday spots I had heard of, but never visited. I quickly contacted the host to book a weekend getaway for my boyfriend and I.

I fell instantly in love with Stringybark Cottage, it’s set in an award winning garden and you feel a million miles away from the crazy city life. The whole cottage is sustainably designed and built, was more than comfortably sized for two people, and had everything we needed. So many vintage delights within! It was the ideal retreat.

It’s hard to have a bad day after beginning it with coffee and a great read 🙂

On the Saturday morning we went to the famous Eumundi Markets (my first time there!). My highlights were some freshly made vegan rice paper rolls, packed with veggies, tofu, seeds and nuts. I washed these down with the most delicious freshly squeezed lime juice I’ve ever had – so refreshing! I also discovered my new favourite dress from local designer Butterscotch Castle… can you believe this used to be a man’s shirt? Up-cycled, repurposed sustainable fashion is the best 🙂

We also spent time climbing around in the rock pools near Coolum Beach lookout, young and old alike were joyfully plunging into one particularly deep rock pool.

For dinner we ate at Sushi YahMan, a sushi restaurant with a Jamaican theme. We received great service and the sushi was soooo good!

I can’t wait to visit the Eumundi area again and find more local delights! I would love to hear your recommendations 🙂

Mother Nature ||

“have you heard of the girl with the sun on her skin, who can make flowers grow with her light from within?

and she runs through the world leaving life in her wake, with blossoms all lining the path that she takes. she must be quite shy for she’s never been seen, but she’s what paints the grass such a rich shade of green.

i’ve heard people say that there’s dew in her veins, that whenever she’s lonely or hurting, it rains.  and if you listen on nights that are early in spring, you might just hear her voice on the breeze as she sings…”

Lost in Bangalow

I was headed home from beautiful Byron Bay today after attending a hens weekend for a good girlfriend of mine. With my trusty Maps app on my iPad I confidently set off, homeward bound!

First off, it took me in the opposite direction than I had anticipated, on a wild goose chase to a road that didn’t exist. I turned around, deciding to head into the heart of Byron and go from there.

On the way, my helpful navigator instructed me to take the next left, and a sign conveniently stated “TO PACIFIC MOTORWAY”. This sounded legit, so left I went!

Cue half an hour of slowly rolling my low to the ground Subaru over a surface that was more pothole than road, but I certainly saw some gorgeous views – it was totally worth taking the long way around (even if my car may never be the same).

This was my favourite view, with the water sparkling on the horizon.

Home sweet home 🙂

Create Your Space

I recently moved out of my family home for about the fourth time in my young life, this time feels decidedly more ‘grown up’ (and about time, really).

I moved my belongings out in a slow manner this time, moving them into my best friends house one bag at a time, testing how much of my clothing, accessories and make up et cetera I could go without. As it turns out there were many things I didn’t miss at all. And I became quite enamoured with the idea of creating your living space to best facilitate your own happiness and comfort. All the while keeping it relevant to your current lifestyle.

I wanted to create a space that was calm, comforting and stress free. This is a new era of my life and a fresh start! Here’s the beginning of my space.

And some inspiration concepts…

Natural living spaces, combining earth elements with minimalist ice modern details are my main inspirations for future habitat designs!

Hope you’re all feeling as inspired as I am!
