Lazy morning lovin’

Most of the Valentine’s Days that have passed in my twenty-four years have been spent as a single lady.

Cue 'yonce
Cue ‘yonce. Damn that girl is fierce.

This is one Hallmark holiday that has never really ruffled my feathers, even though I did often daydream of finding my Mr Darcy and riding off into the sunset… I decided to see it as a way to do something special with my closest circle of friends.

I can remember writing ‘warm fuzzies’ for my high school girlfriends and taking small bears as gifts for those I held close to my heart.

So many people have so much hate for this holiday, but why go to the effort of creating unhappiness? Of course not every holiday can be enjoyed equally by all, but this is a perfect excuse to do something sweet for anyone special in your life!

Make a family member or a work colleague your valentine, and you have not only brightened their day, but you have lightened your heart by bringing more positivity into your life and theirs.

My secondary recommendation is to treat yo’self! Take yourself on a date! Do something you’ve been holding back from. Even if it’s just taking a Saturday morning off to lay in bed with a cup of tea and your favourite magazine, you don’t have to break the bank to show yourself a little love.

Lazy mornings are the best.

Happy Saturday, lovers 🙂

Lost in Bangalow

I was headed home from beautiful Byron Bay today after attending a hens weekend for a good girlfriend of mine. With my trusty Maps app on my iPad I confidently set off, homeward bound!

First off, it took me in the opposite direction than I had anticipated, on a wild goose chase to a road that didn’t exist. I turned around, deciding to head into the heart of Byron and go from there.

On the way, my helpful navigator instructed me to take the next left, and a sign conveniently stated “TO PACIFIC MOTORWAY”. This sounded legit, so left I went!

Cue half an hour of slowly rolling my low to the ground Subaru over a surface that was more pothole than road, but I certainly saw some gorgeous views – it was totally worth taking the long way around (even if my car may never be the same).

This was my favourite view, with the water sparkling on the horizon.
